At mGrounder, we believe parenting advice should be practical, thoughtful, and grounded in reliable information; not fear, judgment, or unrealistic expectations.
Our goal is to help parents better understand children’s behavior, communication, discipline, and development by combining research with real-world parenting experience.
How We Create Our Content
Our articles are written to be useful in everyday family life. When we discuss child development, psychology, behavior, or other research-based topics, we aim to draw from credible sources such as peer-reviewed research, academic institutions, professional organizations, and government resources.
We also value first-hand parenting experience. Parenting does not always happen the way it looks in a textbook, so we try to explain how ideas can translate into the messy, ordinary situations families actually face.
We distinguish between what research supports, what professionals recommend, and what is based on personal experience. We do not present personal experience as scientific evidence.
Our Approach to Research
When an article makes a factual or research-based claim, we aim to support it with an appropriate source.
Depending on the topic, sources may include:
- Peer-reviewed research and academic publications
- Universities and academic institutions
- Government health and education agencies
- Professional medical or psychological organizations
- Established books and publications from qualified professionals
We prioritize sources that are relevant, credible, and reasonably current. When newer research changes our understanding of a topic, we aim to update our content accordingly.
Expert Review
Some parenting topics overlap with areas such as child psychology, mental health, medicine, or developmental disorders. These subjects require particular care.
Where appropriate, content may be reviewed by a qualified professional with relevant expertise. When an article has been professionally reviewed, we will identify the reviewer and their relevant credentials.
We do not claim that every article on mGrounder has been reviewed by a psychologist, pediatrician, or other healthcare professional.
Our content is intended for general educational purposes and should not be treated as a substitute for individualized medical, psychological, or professional advice.
First-Hand Parenting Experience
Parenting experience is an important part of what we share at mGrounder, but we recognize its limits.
What works for one child or family may not work for another. We therefore avoid presenting individual parenting experiences as universal solutions.
When we share personal experiences, examples, or strategies, our intention is to give parents ideas they can consider; not to suggest that there is only one “right” way to parent.
How We Handle Recommendations
When we recommend a parenting strategy, book, resource, product, or approach, we aim to explain why we recommend it and, where relevant, what limitations it may have.
We do not intentionally recommend something simply because it is popular.
If a recommendation involves a commercial relationship, affiliate link, sponsorship, or other form of compensation, we will disclose that relationship where appropriate.
Our editorial decisions are not based solely on whether something can generate revenue.
Accuracy and Corrections
We make a reasonable effort to ensure that our content is accurate at the time it is published. However, parenting research and professional guidance can change, and mistakes can happen.
If we discover a meaningful factual error, outdated recommendation, or misleading statement, we will review and correct it.
If you notice something that appears inaccurate or needs clarification, please contact us with the relevant article and information about the issue. We welcome constructive corrections and will investigate them carefully.
Updating Older Content
We periodically review older articles, particularly when they contain research-based information or advice that may become outdated.
When an article has been substantially reviewed or updated, we may update its publication or revision date and make relevant changes to the content and sources.
We do not update dates simply to make older content appear new.
Our Commitment to Responsible Parenting Content
We aim to avoid shame-based, alarmist, or unnecessarily absolute parenting advice.
Children develop differently, families have different circumstances, and many parenting decisions involve legitimate differences of opinion. Where evidence is mixed or there is no clear consensus, we try to acknowledge that rather than presenting one viewpoint as established fact.
We also take extra care with topics involving children’s safety, mental health, developmental conditions, medical concerns, and other situations where inaccurate information could cause harm. For these subjects, readers should consult an appropriately qualified professional for advice specific to their child.
